The event is the first time that T. rex skeleton fossils have been displayed in the Chinese mainland.
Running through Oct 11, the exhibition also brings together the most comprehensive assembly to date of tyrannosaur family specimens in China.
Focusing on Tyrannosaurus rex as the apex predator of the Cretaceous period, the exhibition presents a combination of fossil specimens and scientific reconstructions to trace the species' evolution and paleontological significance.
Among more than 100 exhibits, over 85 percent are original fossils, including "Rocky",ag最新app下载官方网站 a juvenile specimen from the Dinosaurier Museum Altmuhltal in Germany.
Organizers said the exhibition introduces high-level international paleontological resources to China, strengthens public science education, and meets the growing demand for high-quality cultural exhibitions.
Beyond North American T. rex specimens,皇冠体育(CrownSports) the exhibition also highlights China's own tyrannosaur relatives. The exhibition also features scientifically reconstructed models depicting the appearance and ecological strategies of key species.
Wang Baopeng, deputy director of the Earth Sciences Department at the museum, said the exhibition goes beyond specimen displays to emphasize science communication and the transformation of research achievements for the public.
A dedicated section also traces more than a century of T. rex research and its evolution in popular culture, aiming to clarify common misconceptions and provide a more accurate scientific understanding of the species.
The exhibition also reflects growing international cooperation in China's natural history museum sector. The inclusion of specimens from the Dinosaurier Museum Altmuhltal, a major European paleontological institution, marks a step forward in the internationalization of China's natural science exhibitions and the development of high-quality public science programming.
During the exhibition period, organizers will also host a series of educational activities designed to further promote public engagement with paleontology and science learning.
